Much of the buzz has turned to the 3D and CGI technology behind the film. Legend3D—the leading innovator in 2D-to-3D conversion technology —played a role in creating the 3D experience that has been described by some critics as, “the most immersive concert film ever.”
Legend3D, founded by Barry Sandrew, was behind the conversion work on Metallica. More specifically, Matt DeJohn, one of Legend3D's three visual effects supervisors was responsible for the creative effort in the conversion. Note that Barry Sandrew will be at 3DStereoMedia in Liège, Belgium next month to to convert you to 3D conversion.
