"Thirty Pieces of Silver", the life of Jesus Christ in 3D
"Thirty Pieces of Silver" should be released by Easter 2014. The shooting of this multilingual 3D stereoscopic film on the Bible, depicting the sacrificial life of Jesus Christ, is undergoing production in various locations in India, Palestine, Egypt and Jordan.
“Thirty Pieces of Silver” is directed by filmmaker Kurian Varnasala (Malaysia) and will be released in English, fourteen Indian and several other foreign languages.
A New Way to Tell an Old Story
Varnasala, who also penned the script and dialogues of the film, said his cinema is an attempt to narrate the eventful story of Christ in a novel way with the support of new-generation technologies. The mega-budget movie will narrate the birth, ministry, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ as told in the New Testament of the Bible, the director said.
Outdoor shooting is almost complete in various locations like Palestine, Egypt and Jordan, and the indoor work is going on at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad (Indai) now. The estimated budget of the movie isaround 6.5 M$.
