3D I/O module for 3D rigs metadata

Element Technica (Culver City, CA, USA) announces the release of its new Input/Output Modules that provide a "metadata traffic control center" for capturing, recording and transmitting critical static, semi-static and dynamic metadata reliably and accurately.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 3D

This is the first time that 3-D video cameras were involved for the shooting of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. A team filmed footage for a 30-minute feature that is available on Sony's PlayStation Network or on demand through its 3-D-compatible Bravia HDTVs and Blu-Ray players via Qriocity. The Image Mill 3D - 2011 Edition

The star attraction of Québec City’s 400th anniversary makes a return appearance in 3D ! This renewed version of the famous projection now benefits from stereoscopic techniques that add depth to the visuals.

The World’s Largest Projection Screen

The Bunge grain silo “projection screen” is over6600 meters wide and 30 meters tall - the equivalent of 25 IMAX screens! The architectural projection produced and performed, in Quebec City, by Robert Lepage and Ex Machina represents the largest projection ever done. It requires the use of fine technology to project a huge quantity of images and films on the grain silos of the Quebec Harbour. The screen can even be seen from Lévis, on the south shore of the St. Lawrence (YouTube video link here under) !

Wanna shoot 3D panoramic movies?

A 3D prototype of an existing prototype panoramic video camera has been developed at renowned German research lab Fraunhofer HHI. The device features a circular rig capable of carrying up to 30 HD cameras and 15 mirrors to form a continuous 360-degree 3D panorama. The rig is scalable in increments of 24 degrees and supports acquisition of live 3D video panoramas of up to 360 degrees with a maximal resolution of about 15.000× 2.000 pixels for each stereo view.

HURRICANE 3D

Written by Jacqueline FARMER and Frédérique ZEPTER, "HURRICANE 3D" feature doc aims to follow the destiny and consequences of a symbolic hurricane from its birth in Africa to its raging death on North American coastlines. It will be directed by stereographer Cyril BARBANCON and veteran BBC director Andy BYATT ( "Blue Planet" feature, "Planet Earth" series) featured here under with his RED equipped rig.
