Cameron Conviced by Dimenco Glasses-Free 3D

Several of us have met James Cameron at this month IBC in Amsterdam. As reported by 3DFocus, James Caemron sees a great future for 3D especially when glasses-free autostereoscopic technology becomes good enough. And after visiting the Dimenco-Dolby booth on the exhibition floor, he said "I now feel motivated again to continue with 3D". We have seen the 4K 56 inches dimenco glasses-free screen and the quality improvment over last year is evident.

James Cameron and Autostereoscopy

J. Cameron is convinced that 3D in the home will happen only if 3D is possible without special glasseS. In a paper as old as October 2010, he told to Eric Schmidt, Google CEO : "There will be no barrier to 3D ubiquity.... when you will have 50 or 60 inches autostereoscopic monitors. That is already easy on laptops... as resolution comes up, it will happen." in front of ZDNET cameras.
