3D TV For Dummies
MakeUseOf -the tips and help web site for everybody- released a short but simple to understand paper titled "3D TVs: What They Are, How They Work, & What Can They Show In 3D?". The paper explaisn about the different types of stereoscopic 3DTV -passive, active, and glasses-free- as well as touch on some confusion that surrounds them.

All 3D Displays are not created equally and if active 3D TV sets present the best image quality, they suffer from needing more expensive and heavier glasses, and a need for batteries replacement. Passive are cheaper but offer only half-resolution, so the best solution will be autostereoscopic TV sets not requiring any kind of glasses. But full resolution glasses-free 3D TV are not yet available with current model showing a clear lack of sharpness.... MakeUseOf lists also the various contents you will be able to enjoy on a 3D TV set : 3D cable and on-demand channels, games, and -of course- stereoscopic 3D movies on Blu-ray discs.
