March is a Good Month to Hunt for Stereoscopic Antiques

It seems that March is a good time to search for previous century 3D stuff on eBay and other similar places. We tried and found the interesting 1860s Table Top Stereoscopic Viewer you see here under for £905.00 (approx. $1,500).1860-3D-Viewer 250px

Another Example

Hunting in the same eBay area, strangely named "Vintage camers/ Stereo cameras" -as viewers are not cameras after all-, we found this rare Coldwell table top viewer for $1,080.

Stereo Cards

OF course if you have a stereoscope, you will need some stereo cards to watch with it. An almost bottomless source of old stereoviews is Jeffrey Kraus Antique Photographics (New Paltz, NY,USA). You may want to check also StereoViews and

More Info

If you want to dig deeper in stereoscope knowledge, go to Stereographer.com or buy "Digital Stereoscopy", the book we published last year, and read chapter one and its 28 pages about "History of Stereoscopy".
