A 3D Studio in the Baltic States

. Posted in Digital History

Parus Studio (Riga, Latvia) is the among the first studios in the Baltic states dedicated to stereoscopic 3D photo and video. And they just published 'Deja Vu', the first Latvian 3D short.

The 5 minutes 22 seconds short is visible here under in FullHD 3D.

Deja Vu : Full 3D Version

The video here under should be seen full screen with the resolution setting put to '1080p HD'. If you are not familiar with Lavian language, we strongly suggest to click on the ' cc ' icon to activate close captions. Captions will appear in the screen plane and are not more interfering with the 3D display, thanks to the last Youtube video engine updates.

This movie is the first short stereoscopic 3D movie ever shot in Latvia!

3D Production in Latvia

Parus Studio is the only one in Latvia and the Baltic states; they developed a full 3D image creation process – from photo/ video to 3D polygraphy. They work with all stereo formats (anaglyph, shutter glasses, circular polarization! and are able to convert the end-product to all possible digital formats, including DCP for movie theatre use.

While Parus Studio seems to be the first full service 3D agency in the Baltic states, several other studios are experienced in 3D too; you may be aware that Digital Sputnik (Tallinn, Estonia) helped Mr. Herzog in shooting his 3D documentary 'Cave of Forgotten Dreams'
