Triaxes (Tomsk,Russia) offers StereoTracer version 6 (Demo version is free, Home edition 79$, Photo Edition 209$, Pro edition 339$ - prices at time of writing - check their web site for updating). Its main use is to convert .MPO pictures from a Fuji W3 camera to a format suitable for lenticular printing.

StereoTracer software converts 2D images or stereo pairs into glasses-free 3D format. StereoTracer automatically generates high quality multi-view 3D sequence by means of special depth-maps. Resultant series of images is used for encoding and printing lenticular 3D picture in 3DMasterKit or another lenticular interlacing application. Also, it can be used for creating anaglyph image or exported into a movie clip (AVI or animated GIF) and used for presentation purposes on autostereoscopic screens. Details here under.

The "3DZ tile" format

The 3DZ Tile format is a frame compatible format storing 720p video (left image, right image, and depth map) in a single 1080p frame. With that format, a single TV channel is able to transmit 3d video to 3DTV sets with glasses and to glasses free 3D TVs. On top of that, if viewed on a good old flat screen or CRT television, you will get a perfectly watchable 2D video in 720p format. Best of both worlds.... We wonder why it is not adopted already by all experimental 3D channels???
