3Doo Available on LG 3D TV Right Now
3doo Inc. today announced that LG has approved 3doo’s Player App for download and installation on LG’s line of Smart TV sets in 87 countries and territories on every continent.
The 3doo Player App is also available pre-installed on millions of Panasonic’s 2012 and 2013 VIERA stereoscopic 3D TVs globally, placing the 3doo platform alongside other premium entertainment services such as YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Instant Video and Hulu.
iPhone 6 May Offer Pseudo 3D Wrap-around Display
Apple filed a "Electronic Device with wrap-around display" patent that appeared today on the US Patent database under # 20130076612.
The patent explains how a device is made from an open-ended transparent body that becomes a full wrap-around display when a flexible AMOLED screen is unfurled within it. Optionally, two screen layers may be used, the external one being somewhat transparent, creating a depth-layered image offering a semi-3D effect. The device will have no button at all and should replace the unlock button with a specific multitouch gesture.
Sensio - Disney 3D VOD Deal
SENSIO Technologies announced earlier this month a 3D stereoscopic VOD content license agreement with The Walt Disney Studios to make 3D movies available for on-demand rental on SENSIO's 3DGO! service. The service is beginning in March 2013 on selected devices across the US.
