Georges Lucas himself appeared at the Star Wars Celebration VI in Orlando, FL, USA that was ending yesterday August 26, 2012. And he announced the release dates for the next two Star Wars stereoscopic movies: "Star Wars: Attack of the Clones 3D" and "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith 3D".

  • Star Wars: Attack of the Clones 3D: September 20th, 2013

...and the 3D is damn good!

According to several people attending the event, most of the snippets of the new 3D version of Attack of the Clones that were presented were incredibly good, with a few "In-your-face wow effect 3D" shots.

Even difficult scenes such as that one when the silver Naboo cruiser lands on Coruscant through the fog (good 3D fog is TRULY difficult to make) were unanimouslty appreciated!

400 days and 400 nights to wait until the release date....

Reasons 3D is far better in Episode II than in Episode 1 are not only releated to improvement in 2D-to-3D conversion software, but also to the ability to retrieve more 3D props, spaceships, and other digital assets that are essential to recreate depth of so many details in complex scenes.
