Avatar international Box-office

On release day, "Avatar" grossed $3.5 million in midnight runs from 2,000 screens. Read the Variety paper here. First figures for the opening week-end gives 232 M$worldwide (77M$ in the US only).

After 17 days, the worldwide Avatar revenue igot from 9 to 10 figures with $1,018,811,000 (34% US, 66% rest of the world).

In the U.S., "Avatar" opens in 3,457 theaters, of which 2,032 are 3D (3,124 3D screens, including 191 Imax). In other countries, "Avatar" opens on 13,737 screens, of which 3,935 are 3D, including 81 Imax.
