The 48 Hours Film Project Accepts 3D Movies...
...Why not yours? 3D movie makers are more than welcome in that competition, as testified by "The Collection 3D" a short horror by Andrew Murchie and Enhanced Dimensions. The Collection 3D" was filmed and edited over the May 18-20, 2012 week-end and this is the first 3D entry to the 48 Hour Film Project outside of the US.
The 48 Hour Film Project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which you and a team make a movie—write, shoot, edit and score it—in just 48 hours. On Friday night, you get a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, all to include in your movie. 48 hours later, the movie must be complete. Then it will show at a local theater, usually in the next week. In 2011, nearly 60,000 filmmakers made 4,000 films in 96 cities on 6 continents. This year, we're even bigger, with filmmakers around the world taking the challenge to make a film in just 48 hours.
The 48HFP Mission
The 48 Hour Film Project's mission is to advance filmmaking and promote filmmakers. Through its festival/competition, the Project encourages filmmakers and would-be filmmakers to get out there and make movies. The tight deadline of 48 hours puts the focus squarely on the filmmakers—emphasizing creativity and teamwork skills. While the time limit places an unusual restriction on the filmmakers, it is also liberating by putting an emphasis on "doing" instead of "talking."
The Collection
Andrew Murchie and his band of merry filmographers entered the 48 hours project for the first time this year and not wanting to do things by halves, have put in the city’s first 3D (and second in the world) entry.

‘Transformers: The Ride 3D’: 5 Minutes, 100 M$
Mechatronics or stereoscopic 3D CGI? That’s the question the special-effects gurus at Universal Studios and Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) , as well as “Transformers” director Michael Bay, first asked themselves five years ago when they started developing the $100 million theme park attraction based on the Transformers franchise.
Shot in 4K and presented on 14 digital screens mixed with partially real-world sets, the attraction is enjoyed from a 12-person vehicle designed to look as a transformer named Evac. who goes on a breakneck chase from the headquarters of the top-secret NEST agency through city streets, across rooftops and even inside an office building on the hunt for a missing shard of the AllSpark, the powerful Transformers artifact.
