Monsters Inc. 3D Announced

Monsters Inc. 3D would be out on January 18, 2013.

It has been announced that the Monsters Inc. conversion to stereoscopic 3D has been bumped up from January 2013 to December 19th of this year. While no explanation is given for the move, the title now faces some seriously heavy competition. While the Wednesday release date will give the title a bit of a jump, there is plenty of competition during the week, as Christopher McQuarrie's Jack Reacher, Judd Apatow's This is 40, Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty are all set to come out. 

The movie will also go up against Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and Tom Hooper's Les Miserables, both of which will be in cinemas the week before. On January 18, 2013 the only films set to be released are Broken City and The Last Stand,neither of which share a demographic with the Pixar film.
