Independence Day 3D Released in 2013

Twentieth Century Fox has revealed the studio will be converting the Will Smith 1996 blockbuster Independence Day to stereoscopic 3D for a July 3, 2013 re-release.

2D to 3D conversion

Fox will use Studio3D fro the conversion work as they are really satisfied with the work done on Titanic. Independence Day will be the second Will smith movie fully converted to 3D (after Men In Black, also a full conversion).

The July 3rd release date puts Independence Day 3D up against Universal Pictures' Despicable Me 2.
