Immortals 3D Shine at Box Office
The action-adventure “Immortals” opened as the No. 1 film at U.S. and Canadian theaters, taking in $32 million in ticket sales. Taking worldwide sales into account, Immortals lifetime grosses are reaching 68 M$ and raks #63 in the "3D" category after three days.
Story: Theseus is a mortal man chosen by Zeus to lead the fight against the ruthless King Hyperion, who is on a rampage across Greece to obtain a weapon that can destroy humanity.

“Immortals” is the second No. 1 opening this year for Relativity, created by movie financier Ryan Kavanaugh. The company expanded into film distribution after co-financing and co-producing with major studios including Universal Pictures, a unit of Comcast Corp. and Sony Pictures. The did also “Limitless” this year, which opened in March and generated $161 million in worldwide ticket sales.
About “66 percent of the opening-weekend audience saw the film in 3-D,” said Phil Contrino, editor in New York at Boxoffice.com. “That’s always good because they are paying higher ticket prices. It really hit its core base of males pretty well.”
