Disney Learns Fast: 3D Re-releases are Coming!
The Lion King 3D success prompted Disney to dig in its treasure trove of good old animated movies ready to be converted to 3D and making money once more. Next in line are Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc., and the Little Mermaid.

Scorsese's third Golden Globe for Hugo
Martin Scorsese' first 3D movie "Hugo" was received extremely well and the confirmation came yesterday with a third Golden Globe award for best director. Scorsese's innovative use of strong 3D effects combined with heavy focus blur, clever lighting and superb camera moves have been universally appreciated by moviegoers and the Golden Globes jury as well.
3D Vampires are Back in Underworld: Awakening
Kate Beckinsdale is back in stereoscopic 3D as Selene the Vampire Warrioress in the fourth installment of the Underworld franchise, which is directed by Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein.
Underworld: Awekening is distributed by Sony/Screen Gems in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D this week in the US, and in March 2012 in Europe. Run time : 1 hour 28 minutes. Ahead of the January 20, 2012 US premiere of "Underworld: Awakening", Screen Gems has released five new clips from the action-fantasy flick (link here under).
PIXAR Planes News
John Lasseter is working on the CARS spin-off, called Planes and featuring a courageous small crop dusting plane called Duster. This will be directed by Kevin Hall (remember The Simpsons?) for DisneyToon Studios. The Trailer is available here under in HD (2D only for now). Planes will be directly released in DVD and Blu-Ray and is not supposed to take off or land in theaters.Other Disney News: Today, the Walt Disney Co. finally announced the debut date for its new 24-hour basic cable and satellite channel aimed at kids ages 2 to 7. Disney said that its Disney Junior channelwill launch March 23, 2012 in the United States. The new channel will highlight such current kid-friendly shows as “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” and “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.” It also will feature new programs for youngsters, too. Disney Junior channel is not in 3D, a pity considering how many 3D hours are rolling out of the Mickey production chain....
