Phantom Flex And Slow Motion 3D

. Posted in 3D Cameras, 3D Rigs, 3D shooting

On 6 October in Aubervilliers, France, Binocle participated to an innovative 3D workshop based on shooting high-speed stereoscopic footage on the Vision Research Phantom Flex camera. The Vision Research Phantom Flex is one of the best choices for very high frame rates, up to 10,700 fps (at low resolution) or a lower but nevertheless quite respectable 1,000 fps in Full HD.

During the tests, the simplicity of storage of the video streams was well received, whereas previous tests required the use of heavy computer equipment for recording. The two Phantom Flex cameras were each equipped with a Vision Research Cinemag, which included a 512 GB hard drive. Once saved, and without proxy, synchronised images were immediately available and viewable at 25, 100, or 300 frames/sec.

The Vision Research Phantom HD Gold camera is offered at a new price point now. The Phantom Flex is the most versatile and is easily fitted on a 3D rig.

A super-slow-motion Microsoft commercial shot with a 3D rig and Phantom cameras is on YouTube in 3D.
