RealD Ultimate Screen: A Technological upgrade to 3D Cinema Experience
RealD is introcucing the new "Ultimate Screen" for passive polarized technology 3D movie theatres. The RealD Ultimate Screen is a revolutionary, highly sophisticated, scientifically engineered matte-white screen that delivers incredible images in both 2 and 3D formats. RealD called it Ultimate Screen because it delivers the ultimate cinema experience for moviegoers.
The Ultimate screen has a 2.1 or 2.8 gain (stereoscopic contrast 250:1 or 500:1) and brings 85% more brightness than a 'standard' silver screen. The screen substrate allows for true Micro-Perforations (150 microns) allowing a much smaller perforation without compromising audio quality. It is rigid enough to efficiently vibrate and remove all speckles from laser projection with less actuators. Regardless of what projector you use (xenon or laser), the screen is designed to deliver the world’s highest quality image. And the surface has an anti-stick coating that allows for simple, easy cleaning, including fingerprints, Coke, and Gummy bear sticky traces.

Chattanooga Imax Goes Digital 3D with Laser Projection
The freshly reopened IMAX at Tennessee Aquarium (Chattanooga, TN, USA) is now fully digital and offers 3D stereoscopic movies on its giant screen. Reopening happened on February 1st, 2016.

Dolby Vision 3D Projection
...Like IMAX-with-laser, Dolby Vision uses lasers as light sources instead of the usual high-intensity discharge bulb for stereoscopic projection. This allows 3D projection to be much brighter, and the contrast level to be much higher than with normal DLP, increasing the brightness up to 14 foot-Lamberts (instead of the usual 5 to 9 fL in most 3D theatres) and increasing the contrast ratio to 1,000,000:1.
Trilite Large-scale Autostereoscopic Outdoor Displays
State-of-the-art glasses-free stereoscopic 3D displays are often limited in size, effective brightness, number of 3D viewing zones, and maximum 3D viewing distances, all of which are mandatory requirements for large-scale outdoor displays. Conventional autostereoscopic indoor concepts like lenticular lenses or parallax barriers cannot simply be adapted for these screens due to the inherent loss of effective resolution and brightness, which would reduce both image quality and sunlight readability.
TriLite Technologies (Vienna, Austria) is developing a modular autostereoscopic multi-view display with full sunlight readability and up to several thousand 3D viewing zones.
